Who is Angelique Devil
If ever should we meet one day, I would open the door of my little shop as if it were a casket of secrets.
When you come, you can have fun guessing the colour of my eyes and the curves of my body, simply by adding up the figures of this intimate space.
Take some time for yourself. Stop. Take the car, bicycle, tram, plane, someone’s foot or hand and leave. And come here. To my land.
As you come inside, leave any prejudices or fears outside. You can take in with you a small supply of shyness, to dress those moments of silence and glances when you find the right dress to wear, the perfect toy to have fun with, the unexpected present to unwrap on the white rectangle of your bed. (But also a field could become your bed). The looks and silences become complicity, in my land.
As you walk inside you shall have but one task to carry out: make your secret imaginary dance and share it with the person with you, or the person waiting for you in your secrete place.
“Love is also a game” is what I would whisper the whole time, while you ladies and gentlemen would be busy touching the different precious silks and satins of my lingerie, smelling the air to guess whether the scent is cinnamon and orange or chocolate, being charmed by the shades of peach, purple, amaranth and burgundy.
I wouldn’t suggest any particular direction, because each one of us should discover pleasure at a slow pace, allowing oneself to be guided by one’s instinct and senses. You will leave inebriated and tipsy. Precisely that is my present to you.
One day a man told me: “Love, with capital S is sufferance, it is no longer love”. Let’s disguise, unfasten, get undressed, choose, touch, turn on, give one another, laugh, knot, tie as song as all this leads to an intimate pleasure.
I shall be a guide, a Queen, but I shall be far. I shall be looking for new ways, conquering new unexplored lands of pleasure for you, like the ones already available in my boutique.
And at last this is my promise: every time you come back, there shall always be something new awaiting you.

Buddha Teachings
One day, whilst sitting under a great, spreading, Bo tree Siddhartha Gautama felt that he was somehow undergoing profound, and extensive, alterations of realisation and awakening. Siddhartha remained for seven days under the great tree. It is from this times that Siddhartha began to be referred to as the Buddha, a name implying his being Awake and Enlightened. These few day's spent under the Bo tree are considered to have been the time of his Enlightenment.
Buddha is said to have "attained Nirvana" - to have achieved a state where suffering is eliminated through the abandonment of desires - desires being the cause of suffering. Such attainmentment is held to bring release from an otherwise endless succession of reincarnations or rebirths. The term Nirvana has suggestive associations with a verb indicating cooling, or possibly, extinguishment!!!
Considering himself to have made significant Spiritual Progress and that he now had some Buddha teachings that he thought important to share with others Siddhartha journeyed on foot over one hundred miles to Benares.
Buddha's Enlightenment was experienced whilst living a life that was neither overly luxurious nor overly austere. His teachings were subsequently framed against an idea of a "Middle Way" that avoided such extremes. In a deer park he delivered the celebrated "The Sermon at Benares" in which are included two of the more central Buddha teachings i.e. the "Four Noble Truths" and the "Noble Eightfold Path".
The Four Noble truths
The First Noble Truth is that old age, illness, and death are all forms of human suffering, and that there are many other other ways in which people suffer. The Buddha accepted the Vedic idea of endlessly successive reincarnations where life followed upon life, with much suffering inevitably attending in each of these lives. The idea of Karma further sugesting that in each existence a person's good or bad deeds would respectively impact positively or negatively on their store of "merit". It was this Karma-merit that would underpin the advantageous, or pitiful, state into which individual reincarnations would occur.
The Second Noble Truth is that suffering is closely linked to desire, a desire for being which leads from birth to death and involve ageing, illness, and mortality. There are also various desires for pleasures and for powers which, frustratingly, may not be realised.
The Third Noble Truth is that suffering can be dispelled by the abandonment of all desires.
The last of the Four Noble Truths holds that such abandonment of desires can be achieved by following the Noble Eightfold Path
The Noble Eightfold Path
Right Belief (in the Truth)
Right Intent (to do good rather than evil)
Right Speech (avoidance of untruth, slander and swearing)
Right Behaviour (avoid blameworthy behaviours)
Right Livelihood (some occupations e.g. butcher, publican, were disparaged!!!)
Right Effort (towards the good)
Right Contemplation (of the Truth)
Right Concentration (will result from following the Noble Eightfold Path)
Siddhatha Gautama's Buddha teachings were to provide the basis for the establishment of Buddhism as a most significant religious and philosophical movement - in India for more than a thousand years - with Buddhism also spreading widely into other parts of Asia.

Courage and virtue through Phra Jinaraj
PHITSANULOK - Pilgrims travelling to this northern province during the New Year festival to pay homage to Phra Jinaraj hardly had any peace of mind. All along the highway from Bangkok to Phitsanulok, for a distance of 377 kilometres, they were distracted by the eyesore posters of Chuan Leekpai and Thaksin Shinawatra.
Both candidates were heading into a full-scale dogfight for the premiership. The political campaign trail created a worldly parallel to the journey of religious devotion of the thousands of pilgrims who had Wat Phrasri Rattana Mahathat as their final destination.
Wat Phrasri Rattana Mahathat is an elegant temple, built during the reign of Phra Maha Thamma Raja (Phraya Lithai) in 1357. The temple overlooks the Nan River, which makes its way down south to form - together with the Ping, Wang and Yom - the Chao Phya River at Pak Nam Pho, Nakhon Sawan.
Wat Phrasri Rattana Mahathat is home to Phra Jinaraj, unquestionably the Kingdom's most beautiful Buddha image through a perfect combination of size and proportion. The local people call the temple by its simple name of Wat Yai, or "Big Temple". They also give Phra Jinaraj a more intimate name of luang por ("father"). Most Buddha images are called luang por or luang pu (grandfather) because they do not age generation after generation.
In the local people's consciousness, Phra Jinaraj is always there, giving moral guidance for courage and virtue. All the Siamese kings, as a royal tradition, have made a pilgrimage to Phra Jinaraj. You fulfil your devotion as a Thai Buddhist by paying homage to Phra Jinaraj at least once in your lifetime to realise the transcendental experience and to appreciate the perfection of impermanence.
King Naresuan the Great (1590-1605) grew up with Phra Jinaraj, originally a bronze statue. A prince by birth, he was born and raised in Phitsanulok, then a northern outpost of Ayutthaya. Phra Jinaraj was definitely his mentor. Ekathotsarot, his younger brother, was said to have coated Phra Jinaraj with some of his gold regalia, using his own hands, until the Buddha image shone totally in gold. The effect is striking, adding to the glamour and the unworldliness of Phra Jinaraj.
Phra Jinaraj is cast in a posture of the Buddha Subduing the Mara. Legend has it that the Buddha was sitting under a tree when he was suddenly surrounded by thousands of heavenly beings. Then came the Mara, or the Devil, with his army, which aimed to prevail over virtue with vice. But the Buddha's absolute power conquered the Mara, hence giving rise to one of his most famous postures in the making of Buddha images. It is also a sign of the victory of virtue over vice.
Inside Wat Yai, hundreds of pilgrims flock to pay tribute to Phra Jinaraj. There are Buddha amulets of Phra Jinaraj on the front and King Naresuan, Prince Ekathosarot and Princess Suphan Kalaya on the back. The three siblings are now immortalised as heroes who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Thai independence.
It was with the guiding spirit of Phra Jinaraj that King Naresuan fought his victorious wars against the Burmese and other enemies. Opposite the township of Phitsanulok, there is a shrine dedicated to King Naresuan. His statue is in a sitting posture and he is pouring lustral water from a golden container to declare Ayutthaya's independence from the Burmese. In this age, where genuine heroes cannot be found, it is necessary to go back to King Naresuan as a source of heroism and an inspiration of courage and virtue.
Having fulfilled their pilgrimage, the thousands of Thais who visited the temple went home to resume their daily lives with the image of Phra Jinaraj and King Naresuan in the forefront of their consciousness. This blessing made the politics of the general election and the politicians undertaking to lead Thailand look absurd and unreal.
Lord Jinaraj, may your highness grant me the wisdom to forgive her for showing disrecpectful, for accusing, for twisting her own words. ~ Angelique Yan

teaching 2: a golden opportunity
whenever i meet a person of bad nature, overwhelmed by negative energy n intense suffering,
i will hold such a rare one dear as if i've found a precious treasure.
{that's why: bcause they are a precious treasure. They offer you d opportunity to develop the points tht u need to become a better person}
i will hold such a rare one dear as if i've found a precious treasure.
{that's why: bcause they are a precious treasure. They offer you d opportunity to develop the points tht u need to become a better person}
Teaching 3: your enemy is the provider of all your virtue
when sumone i have benefited n in whom i have placed great trust hurts me very badly, i will practise seeing tht person as my supreme teacher. {it's ur wrong intent n wrong motive n wrong projection toward tht person tht has hurt u. U have a secret expectation. It's ur projection of how tht person shld treat u n them not fulfilling tht projection tht has hurt u, bt not tht person. If u dun put wrong projections on other ppl, u will not suffer}. ^in my very own experience, nearly everyday i m not happy wt what i have n how ppl treated me. Slowly, i remove or minimize the projections on others. U will felt tht ur life are so meaningful, happier n not torturing ur own state of mind, at the same without much realization, u have obtain what u wanted in no time^. [i didnt manage to get all i wanted but so far, i have obtain 2 of my ambitions n having a great family n partner. I dun have a lot of money n still striving for more. Still i m d richest of my own life journey].
In a simplier meaning: When you dun have / have less projections on the other person or certain matter, you are making your own life happier. But at the same time, you are doing your best doing your job, treating those closed to you nice & gave them whatever you can; as that is your duty as a being. With all the hard work you put in but reduce the projections, isnt you become more ease?
Eg: I do my job with the best that I can, I am treating my partner / family the best that I can but I dun expect any return from that. One day, you are promoted, arent that a blessed that you'll feel? Because you dun expected that.
Always remember, it's your secret projections that make your ownself felt hurt, it's not the other person.

Confession - creative writing by Angelique Yan
The evil spirit lies within me,
my heart n mind are revengeful,
sholud there be no great mentors around,
guiding in words of dharma n karma,
the devil within grows stronger, more magnificant,
Conquering the land,
with more evilish acts done towards harm has done me,
implanted act of vegence upon them.

Darkness by Angelique Yan
lying in vain on my bed, its a sunny saturday afternoön,
my room filled wt darkness, the past flowing down my veins, pain is the only word to scribble,
its all coming back to me, driving thru my mind, it shall not be forgotten.
Never ask; should it be worthwhile, should them be forgiven, I shall ripping off pieces by pieces of those. Wishing them well in the name of darkness.

Cleopatra - Women of Power
If Cleopatra were really alive today, of course, she would probably be on mood-stabilizing prescription drugs. Fortunately for us, such things didn't exist in either ancient Egypt or Elizabethan England.
Why the fascination? Is it because her exercise of power was unusual, because she was a woman? Is it because she is seen as a freak, an exception, a contrast to the "natural" state of women? Is it just the fascination that a "mere woman" was a key player at a crucial and fascinating time in Roman history?
Is it because her life highlights the different status of women in Egypt, compared to Rome and later western culture? Is it because Cleopatra's education and intelligence stand out, fostering admiration or fear?
Is it because her story is about love and sex? Is it because the dysfunctional family relationships (to use current jargon) are fascinating, no matter when and where they happen? Is it just the two-millennium-long version of obsession with celebrity gossip? (Plutarch's account, with its anecdotes of sensational incidents, reminds me very much of a People Magazine story.)
Is it because Cleopatra represents the struggle of a small nation to stand up to the larger forces of history, as Egypt fought, through its last Pharaoh, to both keep peace with Roman power and stay as independent as possible?
In emphasizing the exceptional case of the Greek-Macedonian ruler of an Egyptian kingdom, over the lives of ordinary women, do we misrepresent what women's lives were really like in ancient and classical times?
The image of Cleopatra, ruling through a combination of her calculated liaisons with Roman rulers and her own heritage, has been largely shaped by men writing and painting for male audiences. What does the fascination with Cleopatra tell us about how men have thought about women through these two thousand years?
I have no easy answers -- I don't think there are any easy answers. I do think that what an age thinks about Cleopatra has a lot to say about what that age thinks about women in power.

Pretty Face
A call from you on some particular day, very suprising.
Pretty face, you brighten up my day, very alluring; a face I wouldnt want to forget, a kiss of lust I wouldnt want to missed.
You are my antidode to my emotion.
In the view of my invisible crystal ball, your soul revealed.
Hanging on as my antidode, nothing will be changed by the act of passion, everything will remain the same.
I shall call upon this game; still am the core strategist for this amusement. The pretty face who I've always been thinking about, welcome to my playground, may you enjoy all that I have created, my pretty face.

Fear
Understand: we are all too afraid of offending people, of stirring up conflict, of standing out from the crowd, of taking bold action- from a primitive fear of nature, to generalized anxiety abt the future, to the fearful attitude tht now dominate us. Productive adults we r called upon to finally overcome this downward trend & to evolve beyond our fears.
Trying so hard to please people can actually push them away - it is hard to respect someone who has such an ingratiating attitude.
Observing The 50th Law creates the opposite dynaminc - it opens possibilities, brings freedom of action, and helps create a forward momentum in life.
This is Life, New & Strange; Strange because we fear it; New, because we have kept our eyes turned from it.... Now, I understand why most of my friends & superiors see strange in my ideas; they did not observe The 50th Law; because they FEAR. They belongs to the downward trend for being an unproductive adults who we need to move forward with; they should be eliminate.
{Reality is my drug. The more I have of it, the more power I get and the higher I feel. ~ Famous Rapper; 50 Cent}
Ex- Hustler: Rapper 50 Cent >
"One day he was discussing the troublesome aspects of the game with an older hustler named Truth, who told him something he would never forget. Don't complain about the difficult circumtances. In fact, the hard life of these streets ia a blessing if you know what you're doing. Because it is such a dangerous world, a hustler has to focus intensely on what's going around him. He has to feel for the streets - who's trouble, where there might be some new opportunity.
He has to see through all the bullshit people throw at him - their games, their lousy ideas. He has to look at himself, see his own limitations and stupidity. All of this sharpens the eye to a razor's edge, making a keen observer of everything. That's his power.
The greatest danger we face, is not the police or some nasty rival. It's the mind going soft. Lose your grip on reality on these streets and you might as well kill yourself".
Understand: you need this code even more. Your world seems cozier and less violent, less immediately dangerous. It makes you wander and your eyes mist over with dreams. The competitive dynamic (the streets, the business world) is in fact the same, but your apparently comfortable environment makes it harder for you to see it. Reality has its own power - you can turn your back on it, but it will find you in the end, and your inability to cope with it will be your ruin.
Now is the time to stop drifting and wake up - to assess yourself, the people around you, and the direction in which you are headed in as cold and brutal a light as possible. Without fear.
Know the other, know yourself, and the victory will not be at risk; know the ground, know the natural conditions, and the victory will be total.

Angelique Yan 郭芯柔whenever I am in the wrong, I'll admit. whenever I say 'sorry', its sincere. I dun expect a forgiveness after an apologize.
16 minutes ago · DeleteAngelique Yan 郭芯柔I believed that everyone has a bell in their brain; its the matter of has anyone rings their bell. It may not work when we rings their bell now; I am confident that their bell will ring in a very near future...1 year, 5 years, 10 years or 20 years... it will rings one day in this lifetime.
Its fine even if you are a free thinker; no excuses. DHARMA = CODE OF CONDUCT

doing charity or being nice to the orphans or anyone, doesnt means that we wanted sumthing back; but at least I dun want others to make me felt tht as if I owe it to them. That's not a great feeling anyway ♥ 5 hours ago via Mobile Web · Comment ·LikeUnlike · View Feedback (16)Hide Feedback (16)
Angelique HauteStreet 郭芯柔when I am nice to sumone, its out from my own sincere willingness. If the other party do not appreciates it n thinks that I owe it to them or it's my responsibility, then it's very difficult for me to proceed. Everyone has the freedom to reject a responsibility n a lot of people did so, dun we? Including some of the parents out there?
5 hours ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet 郭芯柔being forced to hold our responsibility n being sincerely holding our responsibility are very much different. No one can answer it for us, ask our own heart.
5 hours ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet 郭芯柔my heart says that, do whatever I can to be nice, but if the other party do not appreciates it, I cant force it. Let the other party faced the karma. 只要我对的起我自己就可以了。不用想那么多,也不用做一些无味的东西。只要适可而止就好。
5 hours ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet 郭芯柔不去害他,不去说他的坏话,就是做好我的本分了。对吗?老公。
5 hours ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet 郭芯柔也许有其他跟需要我的爱护和关心的人在等着我。我又何必勉强一个不需要我的爱护的人来接受我的爱护呢?如果我勉强他人; 那我就很自私了,对吗?老公。
5 hours ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet 郭芯柔所以我们要清楚知道其他人对我们好并不是他们欠我们的。永远要记得这一点。
4 hours ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet
2 hours ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet 郭芯柔that's what I alwayz say: if you want others to respect you, you got to respect others. No matter you are a senior, boss, superior or whoever. So what? 要得人服而不是得人吓。做东西如果不够全面,不够美,又有谁会服,是太上老君都没脸给。
about an hour ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet 郭芯柔要是人服你,你也去不会给人背叛; 如果人人怕你,你就肯定会被出卖。就算一个人不出卖你,还有其他99个等着机会出卖你。
about an hour ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet
49 minutes ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet 郭芯柔难道那个女人害我的儿子还害不够?要她再害我的儿子,然后再让她较坏我孙子,再来给我儿子的新老婆麻烦,烦恼?
43 minutes ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet
33 minutes ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet 郭芯柔我也是女人,难道我会不知道她葫芦里买些什么药。。。
28 minutes ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet 郭芯柔不需要她再服什么责任,谢谢。只要不再来烦我家就够了,就谢天谢地了。
25 minutes ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet 郭芯柔当我是小人也好,什么都好。就是麻烦走远一点。做一个女人,我不是应该保护我的家吗?
21 minutes ago · DeleteAngelique HauteStreet

I love the way my mum educate me! Even maybe I come from a very bad gene of my real parents...no matter how bad it is, family education & teaching are so important...
No matter how worst the kid character is, correct way of family teaching helps a lot, a lot. At least, there's a bottom line...my real parents character are like shit but at least I still have a bottom line of being bad. If not for my mum, I would be as worst as my real parents.
Sometimes, I felt that my mum treat as a daughter, sometimes, she treated me as a son!?
Mum teaches me how a woman/girl, man/boy should think, what people will think of you if you do certain things, how to treat others, dharma, how to guide others, basic manners, etc... all credits to her.
And one more thing, she teaches me how to be faithful, dun be a cheapo slut & dun be a materialistic slut. I was a real bad egg before... I have 3 boyfriends at a time; she knew about it. Guess what I did on Valentine's Day?
I hide myself away from all my 3 boyfriends and celebrate it with my buddy; Vicky...
Mum would think that she has failed, she alwayz mentioned so, but actually she succeed. Change boyfriends all the time & dun want to get married, how sickening! She never knew what I was thinking at that time. Once I got married, I wouldnt want a divorce & I wouldnt want to do anything which betrayed my hubby and that's why.
Today, I have commited to one, and I keep all those promise to myself; loyalty! And that someone must be worth my loyalty.
emm... basic manners, basic virtue, basic responsibility which is most Malaysians don't have. Why? "Sad Love Song"

Batu Pahat: Land of Enterprise
WHAT do prominent businessmen Tan Sri Khoo Kay Peng, Tan Sri Vincent Tan,
Datuk Danny Tan Chee Sing, Tan Sri Lee Kim Yew and Datuk Soh Chee Wen have
in common?
The same birthplace - Batu Pahat in Johor.
Once a sleepy hollow populated by farmers and fishermen, Batu Pahat has
produced not only some of the richest businessmen in Malaysia, but also a
couple of politicians and several listed companies - some 13 spanning a
variety of industries from textile to property, biscuits to bricks (see
box on listed companies).
Today, Batu Pahat is a bustling industrial hub at the forefront of
Johore's industrial development, second only to Johor Bahru. The secret?
An unwavering entrepreneurial spirit and a vision that goes beyond the
town's borders.
`Batu Pahat is unique compared with many other towns because it produces
entrepreneurs, people who are willing to take the risk for a better
return,' says Albert Lim Poh Boon, executive director of Ramatex Bhd, one
of the biggest textile companies in Batu Pahat.
`The entrepreneurial spirit is inborn in many of the town's people. The
number of people working to list their companies on the KLSE (Kuala Lumpur
Stock Exchange) is an indication of this. They are not complacent and
always ready to face more challenges,' he adds.
One example is Datuk Seri Au Ba Chi, Batu Pahat's pioneer housing
developer, with seven housing estates to his name. Someone who believed in
the potential of Batu Pahat, Au had dreams of providing reasonably priced
quality housing for residents of his hometown.
Armed with only a primary-school education, the son of a fishmonger
invested in a plot of land at 25 sen per square foot in the 1960s, a move
people then ridiculed as Batu Pahat was a flood-prone area.
He proved his critics wrong as his first housing project on Jalan Mesjid
was a success, as were his subsequent undertakings, most notably the
satellite township in Paloh, Kluang.
Despite pushing 70, Au is planning to develop yet another housing
project. He also has dreams of making Batu Pahat a major tourist
destination. Among his plans: turning the town's river into a tourist
attraction where visitors can take a boat-ride to Orang Asli villages and
other places of interest.
`Datuk is not the type who can sit back and do nothing,' reveals Rosly
Selimin, assistant general manager of the Katerina Hotel, the first and
only four-star hotel in Batu Pahat and its highest building, developed by
Au.
That restlessness can also be said of the other Batu Pahat-born tycoons,
many of whom did not have more than a secondary-school education.
Country Heights Holdings Bhd's boss Lee (Kim Yew), 47, for example, came
from a poor family and was unable to pursue a tertiary education after his
studies at the Batu Pahat Chinese High School.
He headed for Kuala Lumpur and worked at a variety of jobs, from a
Chinese translator to a small-time publisher and salesman. He made his
first million at age 23 and went on to carve a name for himself with his
Country Heights development, one of Malaysia's most prestigious addresses.
`He was the youngest in a family of six and had a keen interest in
business,' says elder brother K P Lee, of Familiar Audio Acoustic Light
System. `He was very independent. During school holidays, he would paint
the school walls to earn money.'
Khoo of the MUI Group, 64, lived in Batu Pahat until he was nine before
moving to Segamat, where his father was transferred to. He studied at the
Government English School and went on to work as a bank clerk after Form
Five. Today, he heads 14 listed companies, both locally and
internationally.
Vincent Tan, 50, of the Berjaya Group, was born in Ayam Sulok, about
40km outside Batu Pahat town. He studied up to Form Five, after which he
worked as a bank clerk. He later moonlighted as an insurance agent for
about 15 years and worked in the truck-leasing and goods-hauling line.
Today, he's known as the man behind the golden arches, after he brought
fast-food giant McDonald's to Malaysia in 1980.
His stable includes the formidable Berjaya Group, telecommunications
player DiGi.com Bhd, and a stake in publishing company Nexnews Bhd. His
brother Danny Tan, 47, heads Dijaya and sits on various boards of the
companies within the Berjaya Group.
Ironically, a common birthplace did not deter Vincent Tan from launching
an unfriendly takeover of the MUI Group in 1991. Khoo held on, and Vincent
Tan eventually backed down, divesting his stake in 1993.
Former politician-cum-fugitive businessman, Soh, 43, had been an
entrepreneur since an early age. While still in school, he operated his
own enterprise, WW Wings Corporation Sdn Bhd. Soh supposedly made his
first million as the franchise-operator of the snack-food chain. It went
bust in 1984 but Soh made his comeback about a decade later.
In 1996, he controlled no less than seven listed companies in Malaysia
and Singapore, with another four overseas. Among the Malaysian companies
were Kelanamas, Promet, Plantation & Development, Omega Securities, and
Rekapacific.
Besides the inherent abilities of its inhabitants, Batu Pahat's advanced
development, compared to its neighbours, is also aided by several other
factors. Most notable is the pervasive industrial drive in the town. Batu
Pahat has several industrial estates - Sri Gading, Parit Raja, Seri
Sulong, Tongkang Pecah, Wawasan, Taman Indah Seri Kota, Murni, Damai Plus,
Beroleh and Taman Mas Jaya - and has attracted multinational electronics
players such as Sharp-Roxy, Fujitsu and Mitsumi.
Although the town has seen a lot of action in the past (see side story
on History of Batu Pahat), much of its modern development began in the
1970s, with the rapid spread of commercial and housing projects in town.
Soon, the town's landscape was dotted with hotels, restaurants, shopping
centres, and more than 20 banks and financial institutions. Its cottage-
industry units, mostly located in Parit Raja, Rengit and Senggarang, have
spread their wings to Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei.
In June 2000, the flourishing town was elevated to a municipality, one
step closer to achieving city status.
`We are committed to industrial development as this has become the
lifeblood of Batu Pahat,' Municipal Council president Abdul Latif Yusof
was once quoted as saying. `In fact, it is these business endeavours that
have helped Batu Pahat mature and prosper, by providing gainful employment
to many, resulting in the flocking of skilled labour here.'
Batu Pahat is synonymous with the textile industry. One of the earliest
industrial companies, South Pacific Textile (now Berjaya Textile), was set
up in the 1960s. There are at least five listed Batu Pahat textile
companies on the KLSE, and more are targeting a listing in due time.
Many of these companies are contract manufacturers for established
international fabric brands. The next time you shop at WalMart, Sears,
JCPenny, or Sam's Club in the United States, or plan to buy an apparel
from Nike, GAP, Old Navy, Puma, Oshkosh, Fila or Umbro, chances are you'd
be getting a made-in-Batu Pahat product.
`We never aim Malaysia as our market,' says Lim. Ramatex has invested
US$100 million each in China and Namibia, which enables it to penetrate
the Sub Sahara trading bloc and gear itself for trade liberalisation in
2005.
`Manufacturing seems to be the main sector of earning for most of the
people of Batu Pahat,' he adds.
Despite the numerous textile companies in town, each is able to hold its
own. `Although we're all in the same business, we complement each other
instead of compete,' says Lim. `We are forced to be innovative to target
different segments and sectors of clientele. Each of us challenge the
other to greater achievement. The industry rivalry may be strong, but
everybody is still very friendly. We can sit down, drink and play golf
together.'
Another factor in Batu Pahat's favour is its infrastructure and easy
accessibility to the North-South Highway.
`Batu Pahat is quite strategically located between two very important
business centres, namely Kuala Lumpur and Singapore,' says Tan Cheng Kiat,
executive director of Arowana-breeder Xian Leng Holdings Bhd. ` (more...this is only 1/3 of the article)

Symbol of Christianity & Should a Christian wear Cross
Why do Christians wear the cross when it was supposedly the instrument of Jesus death ?
The cross is loved and respected by millions of people. The Encyclopedia Britanica calls the cross "the principal symbol of the christian religion." Neverthelwss true Christians do not use the cross in worshil. Why not?
An important reason is that Jesus did not die on a cross. The Greek generally translated "cross" is 'stauros,' it basically means "an upright pale or stake." 'The Companion Bible points out: "Stauros" never means two pieces of timber placed accross at any angle....There is nothing in the Greek of the 'new Testament' even to imply two pieces of timber.' In several texts, bible writers use another word for the instrument of Jesus' death. It is the Greek word xylon.(Acts5:30,10.39;Galatians3:13 1Peter2:24) "Thisword simply means'timbera stick, club or tree"
Explaioningwhy a simple stake was often used for execution the book (Das Kreutz und die Kreuzung(The Cross and the Cricifixtion)by, Hermann Fulda, states:"Trees were not everywhere available at the places chosen for public execution.' So a simple beam was sunk into the ground. On this the outlaw with hands raised upward and often also with their feet , were bound or nailed."
There is no evidence that for the first 300 years after Christs death those claiming to be Christians used the cross in worship. In the fourth century, however, pagan Emperor Constantine became a convert to apostate Christianity and promoted the cross as its symbol. Whatever Constantine's motives, the cross had nothing to do with Jesus Christ. The cross in fact, pagan in origin. The New Catholic Encyclopedia admits:"The cross is found in both pre-Christian and non Christian cultures." Various other authorities have linked the cross with nature worship and pagan sex rites.
Why then was this pagan symbol promoted? "Aparently, to make it easiier for pagans to accept Christianity." Nevertheless, devotion to any pagan symbol is clearly condemned in the Byble(2Corinthians6:14-18) The Scriptures also forbid all forms of idolatry. (Exodus20:4,5 1Corinthians 10:14 Wth good reason , therefore, true Christians do not use the cross in worship.
2Corinthians 6:14-18 Exodus20:4,5 1Corinthians 10:14
There is much debate as to whether or not it is appropriate—or even sinful—to wear crosses and crucifixes as jewelry. Christians did not begin wearing crosses around their necks until after crucifixion was no longer the primary source of capital punishment; therefore, it is not equivalent to a modern-day person wearing a miniature death chamber around his neck, as some have suggested. Many look at the cross as simply the instrument of death used to slay our beloved Savior. Because it was God's will, Jesus willingly went to the cross, taking upon Himself the sins of the world, cleansing those who believe in Him of their own sins.
The only reason Scripture would forbid wearing a cross or crucifix would be if the object became an idol used for worship (1 Corinthians 10:14) or if the wearer were consumed with how the jewelry made her look (1 Peter 3:3). Many people wear the cross or crucifix as a fashion piece without concern for its symbolism or a desire to represent Christ. But that should not mean Christians can't or shouldn’t wear them. Many Christians wear crosses as a proud expression of their love, respect, and service to Christ, along with a remembrance of what He did for us.
Another concern is when people allow objects such as crosses, crucifixes, figurines, rosaries, bumper stickers, etc., to take the place of the true change that should take place in our hearts. The things we wear, carry, or put on our cars are not what make us Christians. God is not concerned with what we wear as long as we do not dress in a way that would cause anyone to stumble in his or her walk with God (Romans 14:20) and we are not absorbed with our looks or our possessions. He is searching out our hearts to find who is faithful to Him and whether we encourage and show love to others. It is not for any of us to judge whether wearing a cross is proper or not; every Christian has to seek God's approval in all he does. If it is not clearly outlined in Scripture whether a practice is lawful or edifying, then the practice is one better left to each person’s conscience.

everybody but nobody
I found it quite humouring when everybody saying that they know what their individual dharma is but nobody put it in practice.
No matter what are you; Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc. There's one very classic example: no sex before marriage, but if u have broken this rules, what are we to say that...
In the bible, quran, mantra, teaching or so whatever never mentioned that wearing a cross, amulet, etc... Didnt mentioned before the reason of it is not for us to remind about ourselves of the good teaching.
By the end of the day, we just want to get right of the objectives and the end result we wanted it to be.
It's the same in either religion, believes, businesses, work, families relationship and social responbilities.
To believe is mythology, putting it into practice is science- mental health (",)
Nearly everytime, I heard people say, 'You are wrong or whoever is wrong.'
How many times have you ever heard people saying, 'You are right or who so ever is right. It's me who don't get their point right, it's myself who cant accept their idea and give them a chance.'?
Anyway, which mental disorder people will tell you that, I am actually insane?! (",)

5 Kinds of Christians Introduction
Understanding the disparity of those who call themselves Christian in America.
A new national survey co-sponsored by Leadership. Reported by Helen Lee
posted 10/01/2007
Jennifer Hua identifies herself as a Christian. A 35-year-old former attorney studying Christian counseling at the Wheaton College Graduate School (Illinois), she has gone to church all her life and is a lay leader in her suburban Chicago congregation. She furthers her spiritual development by daily Bible reading, prayer, listening to and singing worship songs, and interacting with other Christians. And every few months, she carves out time for a silent retreat. "I do all of these things because I know from past experience I need to recalibrate my mind and my heart to be in tune with God," she says.
James Smith also identifies himself as a Christian. He attended church as a child, but his attendance was minimal as a young adult. He believes in God, occasionally attends Redeemer Presbyterian in Manhattan when his time-consuming job in the finance district allows, but he does not often participate in other activities to further his spiritual life. He has a Bible but rarely opens it; what leisure time he has he spends with friends, most of whom are of different faiths, and he does not necessarily believe that his God is any different from the one his Muslim friend worships.
"I don't think that God would be a God who would shut others out of heaven because they don't use the word 'Christian' to describe themselves," he says.
The United States is described in mainstream media as largely Christian (between 70 and 80 percent, depending on the study, identify themselves as "Christian"), and compared to the rest of the world, this is certainly the case. However, not all within this vast group of Christians are alike.
To understand the range and differences among American Christians, Christianity Today International (publisher of Leadership) recently partnered with Zondervan Publishers to commission Knowledge Networks to conduct attitudinal and behavioral research of U.S. Christians. In September 2006, more than 1,000 self-identified Christians 18 years of age and older were surveyed on their religious beliefs and practices. The results reveal a number of significant differences, illustrated by the examples of Hua and Smith. In fact, portraits of five distinct segments emerged from the study. We have named them Active, Professing, Liturgical, Private, and Cultural Christians.
Each group represents about one-fifth of those identifying themselves as Christian, with Active Christians (such as Hua) most likely to have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ that affects their beliefs and inspires an active church life; Cultural Christians (such as Smith) are least likely to align their beliefs or practices with biblical teachings, or attend church. Between the two is a range of beliefs, commitment levels, and public practice of the faith.
Leadership discussed the survey results with leading pastors and religious experts to ascertain the ramifications for church leaders. Three critical issues emerged:
The local church is no longer considered the only outlet for spiritual growth.
Churches must develop relational- and community-oriented outreach.
Lay people have to be better equipped to be God's ambassadors.

Angelique Tussaud 颜芯柔good. u said abt scientific. if u put their teaching practice then its scientific. then can i knw why u r talking to a statue when u r in church? can i knw why christian wore a cross? see things diferently is gud bt b4 tht, u have to study buddhism, christianity n islamic. have you study all that?

Angelique Tussaud 颜芯柔i never treat it as a debate center o. just tht terry dun understand tht frm d start my advice to all is to practice by logicaly n not mythology.
Yesterday at 4:20pm · Delete
Terry Chantherre are no statue, only catholics, and im not one of them, for wat i follow, the teachings, they dun pray to the cross, its only a simbol of love to God, the cross is only an object, if we we take the cross as a "holy object" or same to the bible like wat we see in the movie, its totally wrong.
i came from taoist family, i hav tot thru them ... Read Moreall of my life n i nvr came to understand any of the chinese teachings, cannot ever understand the final question "wat is life, y life,". none of them can answer, its not a debate, jus wanna share wat i've learn all these years.
like my father said, "i have tried all types of oranges, i have tested this one is the sweetest, try it. but u only grab on the only one u have ever known and said dis is the sweetest." as a friend, i care, i wanted to share the facts.

Angelique Tussaud 颜芯柔sori ya. d word shld b object. i answer u ur questions. you define ur life n why life. if even tht question also need others to define, then we r not humans,we'l b robot. as u said, holy object. d word holy tells all, d holy object must b treated wt respect regardles of cross, bible, amulets, etc. in bible, there's where u find dharma. the word ... Read Moredharma doesnt meant for Buddhist. D word karma, yes, its for Buddhism. Taoist, i m too. Bt for sure u knw Guan Gong belöngs to Taoist bt he do partly of Buddhism.
One thing u must do is to practice dharma n then u can define what life is n why life. Abt d orange topic. I m sure u cant try all d oranges in tis whole world which is imposible. We can compared between those we have o manage to tried b4.

Terry Chanwell, to believe or not its up to u, all i wanna say is if u are the creator, and all ur creations dun trust in u, turn to others and say they are true, how would u feel?
i understands (not fully) how God feels, sad, dissapointed, the ones i created and loved so much dun love me, disobeys me. and it really doesn't feel good. God loves us all, ... Read Moretreated us like our own parents, maybe more. if u hav time, at least try to understand him. it might not be a sudden change of faith dats for sure, but it sure does open up our mind. sometimes pride jus gets in the way. i might not be the model citizen in christian society, but i do hope all other ppl can see the truth b4 its too late.

Angelique Tussaud 颜芯柔and about the real purpose of wearing a cross or amulet is to remind urself of d dharma teaching by ur religion. just like keeping ur mum's photo wt u all d time. whenever u see it, it wil reminds u of what ur mum has thought u b4.
its just like entering primary school. u can choose chinese, english o malay school. they all teach u what u need to knw. bt later on, how u wan to use it o dun wan to use it, depends on urself.
